San Francisco

Our usual trip to Frisco.  My bro and I can be unofficial tour guides and start charging people haha.  So our first stop was the Golden Gate Bridge; it was cold and windy like always.  We walked around Pier 39  and ate clam chowder again.  I was hoping we could go shopping at Union Square and buy some custard tarts in China Town, but we ran out of time.  Yea, nothing new, but it was exciting.  Hah I never get tired of this place =D

I had no idea the Academy of Art is across from Pier 39.

Boudin

I don’t know why we never went here before; it’s just right across from McDonnald’s.  They make animals out of bread!  IMO their clam chowders are a lot better than the ones at Fisherman’s Wharfs.

This guy was demonstrating how to carve pumpkins at Pier 39.  Koo stuff

I wish I have a red or yellow Vespa.

The Last Days of the Shogunate System Theory Be to the Range

OP

Mygosh, why such a long title?  I guess we’ll just call it Bakumatsu.  This series is taking a while to get sub, but I’ll be patient since I stop watching Bleach.  Anyways, Bakumatsu turns out pretty good.  The character designs are top-notch.  Hehe I love the main character (Youjiro Akidzuki); his blue eyes and hair are pretty hot 8D.  However, everything seems so complicated.  At first there was this guy drinking on a boat and then it switched to three guys fighting for a scroll.  Honestly, I don’t really get what is going so far especially that ball in the end, but the action scenes make it worth watching.  It does remind me of Samurai Champloo because of the whole samurai thing.  Well, I really have nothing else to watch besides this.  I was expecting more this fall, but I got lazy.  I managed to watch two episodes of D. Gray Man; I might continue that later.  Unfortunately,  I haven’t gotten a chance to watch DN yet.  I’ll probably start when more episodes come out.  As for now, Bakumatsu will keep me from boredom =)

"Lyrically it’s about the changing relationship between two old friends. People that haven’t seen each other in a long time, coming together, and then drifting apart again.

Have you ever known someone for so long that even though it’s been years, when you hang out, you can’t help but slip right back into how you were when you grew up together as teenagers?

You want them to be as they were, as we were, but who they are now competes with your memory, and for some reason it’s dissapointing to you. In this case, it’s a fall from grace in the sense that one person is involved in something the other believes is ‘Not Right’.

Sometimes it seems they both know it, but still nothing changes. How can you express concern to someone who seems to like being where they are regardless of whether it is good for them or not? It’s never your place to say it anyway, so you put it in a song instead :)

I like the way the music sort of disintegrates at the end, frustrated and tired and not really resolving itself, other than to just stop trying."

Is there a better way to put it?  This is so predestrian in life that it’s a quite sad. At the same time it makes you realize your friends right now may be strangers to you the next day.  In a positive way, I guess you can just take it easy with your friendships.  Cherish it but don’t become too attach that it’s hard to let go.  Isn’t it a bit discouraging?  I remember it was really hard for me to say goodbye to my friends when I had to move in 7th grade.  My parents kept telling that I’ll meet new friends elsewhere.  I had to move again in 8th grade and had to leave my friends.  Another same old speech.  "You’ll make new friends in high school."  They were right.  Begining of freshmen year, I stopped letting the little things get in the way of my friendships.  I pretty much stopped caring.  If this is how my friendships will be (good or bad),  I’ll look at it the same way.  Hah, easy said than done, but it makes life a bit easier.  Well, I shall leave it as that, talking about too much is somewhat a contradiction.

Anyways, the main point of this post is that I can’t stop listening to Details Hurt My Mind’s soundtrack, and Not Right is currently stuck in my head.  =)

The Departed

The Departed = Infernal Affairs

Any major differences between the two?

Not really.  The characters and storyline were pretty much identical.    The Departed was more comical and had jokes that I actually get haha even though they overused the F word.  Regardless, the movie wasn’t bad.  The American remake was well adapted to the original.  If I didn’t watch Infernal Affairs, I’d like it more and be more intrigued.  Everything was pretty much predictable.  I wish they had changed the ending a bit.  The Departed was longer but it had a fairly steady pace.  Excellence cast though, Leonardo DiCaprio - Tony Leung and Matt Damon - Andy Lau.  I love Leonardo’s character; I was very impressed haha.  The actions were pretty good.  I just like Infernal Affairs more because of Andy Lau & Tony Leung xD.

8/10 -I highly recommend it for those who haven’t seen Infernal Affairs.

This Tuesday (Oct 3rd) Death Note anime is coming out (replacing OHSHC)!  I was looking for some DN pictures and funny enough Yale University has this index for anime.  That’s pretty weird considering it’s an IVY league school or is it normal?  All schools have this kinda of index online? o.O

For those who still don’t know what DN is about…

Genres: Drama, Horror, Mystery, Police, Psychological, Shounen, Supernatural
Plot Summary: Light Yagami (Or Raito) is an ace student with great aspects who’s bored out of his mind. One day he finds the Death Note a notebook held by a shinigami (Death God). with the Death Note in hand, Light decides to create a perfect world. A world without crime or criminals. However when criminals start dropping dead one by one, the authorites send the legendary detective L to track down the killer.
