The Last Days of the Shogunate System Theory Be to the Range

OP

Mygosh, why such a long title?  I guess we’ll just call it Bakumatsu.  This series is taking a while to get sub, but I’ll be patient since I stop watching Bleach.  Anyways, Bakumatsu turns out pretty good.  The character designs are top-notch.  Hehe I love the main character (Youjiro Akidzuki); his blue eyes and hair are pretty hot 8D.  However, everything seems so complicated.  At first there was this guy drinking on a boat and then it switched to three guys fighting for a scroll.  Honestly, I don’t really get what is going so far especially that ball in the end, but the action scenes make it worth watching.  It does remind me of Samurai Champloo because of the whole samurai thing.  Well, I really have nothing else to watch besides this.  I was expecting more this fall, but I got lazy.  I managed to watch two episodes of D. Gray Man; I might continue that later.  Unfortunately,  I haven’t gotten a chance to watch DN yet.  I’ll probably start when more episodes come out.  As for now, Bakumatsu will keep me from boredom =)

This Tuesday (Oct 3rd) Death Note anime is coming out (replacing OHSHC)!  I was looking for some DN pictures and funny enough Yale University has this index for anime.  That’s pretty weird considering it’s an IVY league school or is it normal?  All schools have this kinda of index online? o.O

For those who still don’t know what DN is about…

Genres: Drama, Horror, Mystery, Police, Psychological, Shounen, Supernatural
Plot Summary: Light Yagami (Or Raito) is an ace student with great aspects who’s bored out of his mind. One day he finds the Death Note a notebook held by a shinigami (Death God). with the Death Note in hand, Light decides to create a perfect world. A world without crime or criminals. However when criminals start dropping dead one by one, the authorites send the legendary detective L to track down the killer.

Mushishi ep. 2-3

The Light of Eyelids

The begining of ep. 2 was pretty slow with the character introduction.  A little girl, Sui, developed an illnesss that caused her eyes to ache in the presence of light.  Her parents "abandoned" her to another family where she stayed in a dark shed.  Biki, the son of that family, befriended Sui and visited her often in the shed.  Sui explained to Biki people have two eyelids and in order to see complete darkness they must close both of them.  Biki soon began to develop the same illness right when Ginko-san arrived (I love the -san part xD).  Ginko gave him some medicine and then tried to cure Sui.  At night, Ginko told Sui to open the outer eyelids while keeping the other ones closed.

Ugghh, it was sooo sick. haha The mushi came right out of her eyes >.<  Ginko destroyed the mushi and ended up giving her his left artificial eye.  I’m really curious about Ginko’s past now and how he lost his eye.  (Possibly the same reason as Sui)  The mushi just consume your whole eyeball.  Ohhh, good stuff.

Tender Horns

I don’t have caps for this ep but it was rather interesting.  Deep in the snowy mountain, some villagers developed hearing problems from to the Un Mushi.  The Un Mushi goes inside a person’s ear and stays in the organ while consuming all the sounds.  After Ginko cured them, the head of the village secretly asked him to cure her grandson, Maho.  Maho developed four horns on his forehand, and he claimed that he could hear loud strange noises.  His mother also had the same condition and died from it.  The reason for his condition was a rare A Mushi.  The other part was a little confusing to me, so I’m not going to try to explain it.

Overall, I love how the story picks up on the little things and gives you this other perspective on human senses.  The simple things like when people cover both their ears with their hands, they don’t hear complete silence.  Instead, there’s this little rumbling noise; in this case, Maho’s mother heard lava flowing out of the mountain.  I know everyone heard of it before, but I never really think much of it.

Gah, this part sucks.  Just let Inoue die already. -_- I got all excited about the Arrancar arc and now Inoue ruins it for me.

Mushishi ep.1

anime/manga

They are neither plants nor animals. They differ from other forms of life such as the micro-organisms and the fungi. Instead they resemble the primeval body of life and are generally known as "Mushi". Their existence and appearance are unknown to many and only a limited number of humans are aware of them. Ginko is a "Mushi-shi" who travels around to investigate and find out more about the "Mushi". In the process, he also lends a helping hand to people who face problems with supernatural occurances which may be related to the "Mushi".
